Al-Sami orders creation of memorial to September 10 martyrs

On Sunday, December 14, 2025, Member of the Supreme Political Council, Sultan Al-Sami, visited the Al-Shuhada kindergarten in the Al-Rawda neighborhood, north of the capital, Sanaa, where the media martyrs of the September 26 and Al-Yemen newspapers and the Yemeni Saba news agency, targeted by the Israeli aggression on September 10, rest.
During the visit, Al-Sami’i laid a wreath on the shrines of the media martyrs and recited Al-Fatiha on their souls and on all the souls of the great martyrs of the nation who stood up in the battle of “the promised conquest and the holy jihad”, asking God Almighty to accept them among the prophets, the righteous and the truthful.
The senior politician highlighted the role played by the national media during the confrontation with the Israeli enemy, the American enemy and its allies from the countries of aggression.
He ordered the General Authority for the Welfare of Martyrs’ Families and the Ministry of Information to establish a memorial for the September 10 martyrs, as they are a symbol of all media professionals who confront the enemy’s media disinformation and show the truth to local, regional and international public opinion.
He said: “This heinous crime against peaceful civilian media professionals has been ranked internationally as the second most heinous crime committed against journalists in the world. This must be highlighted at the media and human rights level, locally and internationally, and the Zionist enemy must be pursued in coordination with Yemeni and Arab journalistic entities and through the International Federation of Journalists.”
Al-Sami also ordered the Authority for the Welfare of Martyrs’ Families, the Zakat Authority and the Ministry of Information and Defense to provide care and support to the families and relatives of the martyrs, and to consider September 10 every year as a day to commemorate this painful anniversary and commemorate the martyrs who set the most wonderful examples of loyalty, sincerity and selflessness.
